Story: Powerful movie is about two guys in prison. One a sailor from Amsterdam and the other an African in South Africa. They spent ten years in prison and what starts out being a sexual thing becomes something more tender. Eventually they get put to death for perpetrating unnatural deaths. Even though only one of them confesses under torture, the other willingly confesses when he learns the fate of the other.
After the sentencing of the sailor, the African mutters under his breath, “We did it” and then smiles. They look at each other and give a pained smile. Something was very dignified about that smile.
End: Dignified but a little on the not so happy side.
